Color of the Year 2014!

Image

Annnd Voila! The “Radiant Orchid” has been chosen as the Pantone color of the year 2014!

Its beautiful, its eccentric, its got a whole lot of bliss oozing out of the palette which I’m sure many of us are going to incorporate in our style, wardrobes, home interiors and maybe even just a purple car! 😀

“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.” as mentioned on http://www.pantone.com

This particularly excites me because colors make me happy and they do bring out character and personality in a very vivid way. I bet the Radiant Orchid is going to be one really HOT selling color this new year and trust me, the different tones and shades in that palette are going to be put to use in a very innovative manner whether it is in Cosmetics, Clothing, Interior Design OR Automobile Design. You just never know 😉

The color has already been used on the Red Carpet, and even some designers have already incorporated it in their Spring 2014 Collection! The Radiant Orchid works well on both men and women. Infact, it highlights the personal color that each of us have because of the blend of cool and warm undertones of red and purple.

When it comes to beauty, shades of purple, pink and red work super as lipsticks specially on most skin tones. They can also work as simple nuetrals for work or for a casual brunch with your girlies. Nail paints as well as rouges will work wonders if worn the right way.

And when we talk about Interiors, it could be Home, Office, Restaurants or even Stores! The color can be put to use subtly making your interiors look stunning and oh so 2014!!

Lets give it up for — Radiant Orchid

Color Psychology

Color Psychology

Ever wondered what color psychology is?

Its how your perceive the rays that you see. Color is basically how the mind works.
Each color has its own feeling, mood and significance, as you see in the picture.

This is a good way to understand what color should be used in a particular design.

the fact is, whatever your “favorite color” is how positive that color appears to You.

It can be very subjective but every human mind actually works on similar lines.

Stumbled upon this on StumbleUpon.

I LOVE colors.. so I feel its always good to understand them and how they work in style, fashion, art, image management and design.
